Every year we are going to expect some new trends, whatever it is. Likewise, in web design, some new trends, techniques & technologies implemented every year to make a website more comfortable to use in smart devices. Actually, web design is a continuously changing trend. In 2014, some of the trends we used mostly are:
Typography
Typography
is the technique of putting texts/types in an orderly manner to make it more visible,
attractive and readable. In other words, typography is the art of working with
texts, graphically.
UI Flat Design
In
web design, flat UI design is an emerging concept which is being used in many
websites now-a-days. This technique mainly focuses on content and provides a basic
design with less distracting elements. Basic design with fewer images can load
faster, which helps mainly for whom having slow internet connection with a
mobile design. Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 7, Google’s Gmail, Facebook,
and Windows 8 are all examples of interfaces that have implemented flat UI.
Fixed Header Bar
Most
of the websites header bar is not fixed, so when you scroll down it would
disappear. If you want to see further information about their product/services,
you need to scroll to top of the page and click the respective menu in the
header bar. With longer webpage’s and mobile browsers, accessing that menu
becomes more difficult. For this reason, many sites will fix the header bar at
the top of the browser window, allowing it to follow visitors as they scroll
down the page. Having a navigation that remains fixed to the top of the browser
window lets readers quickly access the menu. It helps the visitor to dive
deeper into the site more easily.
Bootstrap
Twitter Bootstrap is a more powerful
front-end framework for faster and easier development of responsive and mobile-first websites. It includes HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The major
advantage of using Twitter Bootstrap is that it comes with free set of tools
for creating flexible and responsive web layouts as well as common interface
components.
Infographics
Infographics
(Information Graphics) are a graphical visual representation of information or
data to present complex information more quickly and clearly. Collections of
information showing in a design way, that's not only informative, but looks
good, so that humans can understand more quickly about the trends or topic.
SVG images
SVG
(Scalable Vector Graphics) is an
image format for vector graphics. It is an XML-based vector image format for
two-dimensional graphics with support for interactivity and animation. It allows
three types of graphic objects: vector graphics, raster graphics and text. SVG
is supported in all modern browsers and some previous version browsers.
Some
advantages of using SVG are it scales to any size without losing clarity, Small
file sizes that compress well, and so on.
And lots more…
More
design trends are implemented in the year 2014. But, we discussed above are the
most important techniques used in web design. More other techniques, trends are
implemented in previous years, but these trends have a slight modification from
the previous one, like responsive web design, SaaS, Flat & responsive together,
etc.
In
2015, businesses need to have websites that work well on the aforementioned
devices plus smart watches, TVs, home appliances and even cars, to name a few.
I’m sure the list of devices that can stream content from the web will be even
longer in a year. The responsive world we knew in 2015 is rapidly expanding. Trends
in 2015 can be briefly discussed in the upcoming blogs.
Thanks a lot...
